tbh i can get it for 3$ via russian friend. This would be as insta buy if they didn't handout free copies of 3. Bought 1,2 and 3 for full price then they gave way 3 for free? well then, i'm gonna wait for #4 to be free instead.
totally wrong, PO'd BL2 and season pass to install in our univ pc gaming station so we can play on steam offline mode through LAN.
back to topic, if the devs has shown that they have the tendency to release their game for free, then there's no point buying it if I can wait until they do it again.
Yes you are right, game's value gets cheaper and cheaper in time, no doubt about that. I didn't say that I won't be buying the game though, for sure I will get this if ever it goes on sale on summer sale. But my point is if you put your game for free or on sale too early, it just makes me hesitate to buy it for full price.
Look at square enix, even though their games are totally worth the buy for full price on release because they are actually good, square enix have a habit of putting their latest game on sale for 50-66% in a span of 3 months. If I can wait for 3 months on not playing the game (which I can easily can, too big of backlog now) then I'd rather wait for the price to drop in 3 months time.
Ah, I can agree with the too early thing. There is certainly a schedule these kinds of things have to follow and too fast too steep discounts are bad. But I´ll say given that the only mention of time in any of your posts before this one was the "after 2 years" part in the OP you might have wanted to emphasize that part of your point a bit more. I would personally say after 2 years is quite a reasonable time to get an indie game for petty change or for free.
EDIT: just checked, episode 3 was released pretty much exactly a year ago. Still not a huge deal for me since such a small game, but it is getting quite close to that yeah. The episodic nature helps too I guess, makes the game feel old ect.
But to each his own i guess...
Humble Bundle generally only does games that are available on PC, Mac, and Linux so it's unlikely they'll ask us to participate.
