http://www.howlongtobeat.com/search.php?t=games&s=penny+arcade (About 10 hours per game).
"Is there much to do post game?"
Both games have some bonus bosses to fight. Also, the 3rd game has a bonus scenario that you can play at any time (but it makes more sense to play after you beat it) that's about 1-2 hours long.
"And finally are there classes in either games? Or do the animals you find have their own set of skills?"
Yes.
In the 3rd game, each character has 1 unique class as well as 2 slots for additional classes.
In the 4th game, you get a lot of different monsters on your team and you can add a second class to each one (via your trainers).
"And do the Dev's still update either of the games?"
We haven't updated the games recently, but we do check the forums. :)
"P.S. Is this game set in the middle ages (swords, magic etc) or with guns?"
There are guns, but it's not really either. It's kind of a steampunk setting - not quite modern with a good helping of Lovecraftian dark fantasy.
Sounds epic I'm in!
