Can't save game?

Anyone ever have this problem? I just downloaded the game and I can't save my game at all.

I go to the save menu, press 'a'/enter to select save, press up/down to put the cursor on a slot, and press 'a'/enter. The little hand-cursor jumps back to the first save slot no matter which slot i picked, and then nothing else happens til I hit a/enter or b/escape.

Then if I go back to the save screen, all the slots still say empty slot. If I try to load from the slots, it confirms that yes, they are empty.

I looked in my Documents/SavedGames/Rainslick4/Rainslick 4/ and it's empty

Same for Rainslick 3. Can't save in that game either.

I'm running windows 10, if it matters.

I saw an old thread suggesting maybe XNA wasn't installed so I downloaded and installed that, but i get the same issue afterward.

Any idea what's going on? Both games are unplayable for me since I expect I'll eventually lose in combat or have to stop before winning the whole game. And alt-tab doesn't work either, Rain-Slick stays on top no matter what.
