PLEASE make the next yakuza game turn-based. The brawler system is mildly annoying outside of heat actions at best and infuriating at worst, at least the turn based system works 95% of the time, the remaining 5% being the AOE attacks.

Edit: Keep the clown awards coming. I'm right and you know the mainline games are gonna remain turn-based, and for a good reason, until they figure out how to make a good real-time brawling combat system.

They have already stated that Like a Dragon franchise will move forward with turn based combat while the Judgment series will keep the usual brawl from the first 6 Yakuza games.
And this was announced like, 2 years ago

Just finished Gaiden last night and dabbled a little in the Infinite wealth demo, they let you walk around in a set area from your character now to line up AoE shots. I can't remember right now but I believe the enemies weren't randomly wandering about when targeting one of these skills also.

Should make literally the only annoyance I had in Yakuza: Like a Dragon much more fun and manageable now :D

Next game should have a Match 3 puzzle combat system.

Great to hear ! This and the fact that enemies used to not show what element they were weak to before the patch used to be my only problems, seems they're gone now. Honestly can't wait until January.

Yeah... Well I had by far the most fun with Like a Dragon. Truth be told, a big part of that fun was building up my characters and working up their gear. And while that can be done within the scope of a pure action game, it meshes far better in an RPG setting.

I just hope that the "dungeon" they set aside for grinding in Infinite Wealth has some real heft this time. It was super deflating that you could be done with the whole thing in 5 minutes in Like a Dragon, since this is supposed to be the part where completionists rinse and repeat. I'm not asking for a randomizer (because I HATE THOSE), but I am asking for a dungeon with some meat on it. If I can be in and out in under an hour, that's a problem.

At least as Kiryu in Infinite Wealth, you have some special attack you can "swap" to brawler combat and deal with enemy the old way. They are trying to make more hybrid between turn based and brawler combat, which is fine, but I still prefer brawler combat only.

We are among the first humans in existence to have google. You clearly need it but you are not using it.

I like both the brawler type and the turn-based. only thing I'm not sure is if the hawaii setting is for me. I love the japanese locations but not hawaii.

I consider this location to be emblematic of my main worry for the franchise: that SEGA's new (and big) Western audience has them doing things that they'd never have done before they started dumping the games on Steam.

Things like letting the English localizing team dictate harebrained schemes to bring in e-celebs wherever they possibly can.

Things like minimizing or gutting staples that carry the threat of offending some idiot in the West. Like how the cabaret content in Like a Dragon is so simplistic that it can be played in about 10 seconds.

And of course things like bringing in a US location. Even though there's frankly nothing about Hawaii that could possibly serve as a surrogate for the minigame-filled locations the series is known for. And really not even anything to satisfy virtual tourism either—you go to Hawaii for beaches and volcanoes. That's it.

I hope the next battle system is just a mahjong match, and if you get a yakuman the credits roll.
