Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is almost an add-on to Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The story is in the same time with Yakuza: Like a dragon.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the last in series and is much, much bigger than Yakuza: Like a Dragon or all the other Yakuza games, compared each separately.

Ended up buying it anyway, I'll wait for a bigger sale for IW

Was Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth on sale? Be careful that there are two Like a dragon games with Ichiban.

honestly you wont be missing much by not playing infinite wealth i tell ya that much lol. Its at best a glorified side story. I feel like gaiden has more depth story wise than IW

If you like brawling combat then buy it, the future of mainline games of brawling is grim
