Did the ending mean to imply what it sounded like? (MAJOR SPOILERS for Yakuza 7 and LaD Gaiden)

In one of those flash-sideways bits to the events of 7, they discussed Kume's assassinating Ryo Aoki/Masato Arakawa in the ending of 7. In the game itself, it looked like Kume had basically lost what was left of his little mind and did it because he couldn't accept that the cause he was so rabidly devoted to was a lie. In this game, though, it sounded kind of like the narration said the Daidoji Group pushed him to do it because they couldn't let him get away with it.

Did they imply that the Daidoji were the ones really behind Masato's death there, or am I completely off-base? If so, what does that indicate for the series going forward? It would certainly make sense to set the Daidoji up as the new antagonists for Ichiban's arc, an "evil empire" for the self-styled JRPG hero, and that would seem like a good way to do it.

seeing that that evil agent dude didnt get defeated in this game imma assume that he'll get his ass stomped at some point in the later games .

But i hope ur right that would be nice.

And i think its both why kume killed Masato tbh.
