What's the deal with this games cost?
It just came out and it's only $50. Why? The newer one coming out next month (Infinite Wealth) is $70 and so close together. I'm not hating or anything i'm just curious if this is a smaller scope game or reusing assets to give it a lower cost.

I'm a fan of the Yakuza games and i'd like to buy it. But really just wanting to know what the reasoning is from anyone who has played it.

It's a beat-em-up like the classic games. For a game that was made in roughly six months, I think it's a great game. You'll only get the most out of it if you've been following Kiryu's journey though.

This is a filler game. Infinite Wealth is their main project.

So is it any good? And which style is it in? The newer rpg style? Or the other one?

For what it's worth, although Gaiden gave me the smallest total playtime out of RGG's entire library, Yakuza 6 only beat it by like 3 hours, and that one is considered a full game. I think Gaiden had more things to do in it, pound for pound.

Main story's fairly short in this one. It's at least quite focused, and by series standards actually pretty sane.

Played it via XBGP. According to that, I reached the ending in 23h (completed the main story; not remotely a completionist, but I did do most of the 'Akame Network' substories and did enough grinding to be able to afford all the upgrades except the 'Kiwami' ones to maximize health/attack).

The side content was... not particularly interesting this time around, but you don't *need* to do it all or to do a lot of grinding to go through the main story at least.

Thanks for the answer folks. I'll wait on buying it since I haven't gotten around to playing all of Kiryu's games.
