The last true Yakuza game
Been one hell of a ride, but it's just jrpg slop from now on unfortunately. Hope Judgment keeps going at least.

I wonder if there will be a Judgment 3 ever with the stuff going on behind the scenes.

That's not the case. Sega knows that their brawlers are popular. When they released LaD7 and it was well received they said they'd keep Ichiban's stories as JRPGs and that Judgement would continue as a brawler. The licensing issues with Johnny's got in the way of that immediate plan, but now that the owner is deceased and the company has changed hands that's no longer the case. If Judgement continues then we'll still have a brawler title. If it does not then I'm pretty confident they will replace it with another. They know their audience pretty well.

bring on the "JRPG slop". we'll all be enjoying the best Yakuza game to come while the rest of you can sit out and miss greatness. you either keep up or fade out. LAD is going nowhere, and i'm glad that's the case.

we've still got judgement and potential Gaiden spin-offs for more brawler action.

combat is the least important quality contributing to what makes this series so good

idk, im cautiously hopeful. there's been a definite decline in quality since nagoshi dipped but only time will tell.

THIS 100% I'm so surprised there's even any resistance at all. I've been playing Yakuza games for so long, and throughout that time I've ALWAYS heard and read complaints about the combat system from the beginning. Now they're moving away from that gameplay style and suddenly people are teary eyed and nostalgic about things they complained about years ago. It' astonishing to me.

Either way the "TRUE" Yakuza games are still here and going strong. Still fun and engaging stories about Japan and the criminal underworld. Still crazy and whacky substories and side content to make us laugh. Still great characters that aren't pandering or trying to check any boxes. Still beautiful JAV models that show up once in a while lol. Everything that people love about Yakuza games is still in the new ones. The only thing being taken away was the one thing I always saw complaints about.

What exactly are you disagreeing with? I didn't make any broad claims except for my own experience that I always saw people complaining about combat in the original games and which ones had good combat such as 0 and KW2 while they dogged on others. I never said that there aren't Yakuza fans that don't enjoy the action combat (I love the action combat especially in this one and in Lost Judgement most of all) just that I saw mostly people always complain about it.

Cry about it. You have 11 brawler games, go play them until the end of time. Glad to see that SEGA evolves instead of making a conveyor of XXXXYY true gaming expiriences

Picking a genre (turn-based RPG) with plenty of other games (sometimes entire series) to choose from. Instead of sticking with a genre (brawler) that's hard to come by, it's just a shame really.

I mean it's fitting with the yakuza organisations the old yakuza combat system is gone too

i wish they could have continued judgment, at first i wasn't much into it but surprisingly now i finished both i have good memory about them, main theme from J1 with alexandros really keep in my head, the ending generic was memorable it's change from just black screen with developers names !
J2 was also memorable with high school story, i'm getting old im in my 30 now and kinda hate when i heard high school story since it's often some stuff for teenager, but surprisingly i really liked school stuff in judgment
