IGN gave it a 7/10
Do you guys think it should be higher than a 7? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTEsb7fCblM

What's IGN ?
Melodia Nov 7, 2023 @ 7:30pm
I mean it's IGN so it's probably really good if they gave it a 7.

I think it's fair around 7 or 8. Judging from the review it is what most of us though it was gonna be already.

I don't care. I'll make my own judgment.

Review scores for Yakuza games are what they are. On average they get 7-8/10. If you get it you get it, if you don't you don't. Yakuza games take investment, and people who have experienced the greater story (playing through multiple/all the games) will appreciate any new game much more than someone going in cold into a later series game. IMO RGG does some of the best story telling in the industry and I will play anything they release. This is a series with more story history than any other game series that I can think of and frankly, unless I know a specific reviewer has the proper knowledge of the series, I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about their review.

IGN gave Lost Judgment a 7 so I can't trust their reviews about RGG games
That said I'm not expecting a Lost Judgment tier thing from this

All gaming sites gives bad reviews for yakuza and we have our own JUDGMENT as yakuza fanbase. We dont need them.

IGN is only good if you want to watch trailers and sometimes they dont even get that right lmao. Dont trust IGN about reviews, most of their staff cant even play video games (look at redfall ign gameplay as an example)

RGG is one of the few AAA developers who still care about a fully polished product when released. I played all of them (except 4,5 and Kaito files) and it has been an amazing series so far.

If you are not sure, dont buy it at release. I am not buying it at release, im waiting for high res mods and unofficial music license patch first.

Yeah dont gonna exactly ditch they but one game that were just 6 months cooking? Dont exactly think will be a Breath of Wild or Elden Ring

How do you know that Gaiden was only 6 months in the cooking? can you provide source?
Edit: found it on wikipedia, it was planned as a DLC. Im gonna wait until it is available for sale
Edit 2: Estimated story playtime is around 10-20 hours, I guess thats true if you rush it hardcore. If you play it casually with some side activities i guess the estimated time is around 30 hours to finish, which is fine for me for a dlc sized-game. yakuza 6 took me around 30 hours to finish aswell and that was a full-sized-game, i didnt bother to finish the side activities tho (those didnt scratch my interest for some reason).

Well, its a "DLC turned into a game" with only 5 chapters and probably a lot of reused stuff. I obviously haven't played it yet but Im keeping my expectations low.

It was said by Yokoyama himself. Aint no way im paying $50 for a 5 chapter Yakuza game that took them 6 months to make. Kaito Files had 4 chapters and that was $30 (and $30 was already ridiculously overpriced.)

Thank God for gamepass.

Sounds pretty awesome that gamepass has it available. Im gonna wait it out for a huge sale or until a third-party-seller sells it for 20 bucks lol (which will probably happen soonish-enough since yakuza games are still pretty niche in western market)

it's not out yet.
