Cancelled this game off of my wishlist, as we now know that it's coming to PC Game Pass (and Xbox Game Pass) on release day.

I'm just gonna leave a warning for everyone reading this post.

You likely will NOT be able to transfer saves from Game Pass to Steam. I say this because I beat LaD 7 on Game Pass and when I finally bought it on Steam there was absolutely no way to transfer them to the Steam version.

With that said, a reminder that games get removed off of game pass all the time and Yakuza 0 was removed off game pass at one point (not sure if it was ever re-added) so if you plan to replay Gaiden via NG+ then I recommend just buying it on Steam.

EDIT: Seems there's been a solution found since I had this issue although no promises it'll work on Gaiden

Because my main gaming platform is PC, and has been since 2011. Also I did clearly say PC Game Pass, but added Xbox Game Pass just to give the correct information.

I also have more games on Steam than anywhere else. I already own Yakuza 0, Kiwami, Kiwami 2, Yakuza: Like A Dragon and Like a Dragon: Ishin on Steam.

Correct, you can transfer game saves from PC Game Pass to Steam, and the process is pretty simple. You can either use a mod that will convert the save file for you, or you can do it manually by just renaming the Game Pass save file for the game you want to transfer to the same format as your save file on Steam.

"for free" you're still paying for the sub. I get the reasoning behind someone getting gamepass for a month or so just to beat a game quickly (as I'll be doing with persona 3R) but come on bruh

I dont get why people have to pat themselves on the back for not buying the game. If you dont want to then dont, if you want to then do. Why try to make people feel bad for buying a product they are eagerly waiting for.

It won't take more than a month to complete this game, it was announced that it will be a shorter game compared to the last one. It'll probably take a week at most to finish for most people.

Imagine being the type of person who is willing to pay $50 for a game but only if they can't get it on their paid rental service.

Agreed, I've never played any of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon games in English.

I tried one of the Judgement games in English once and the over the top American voice acting was atrocious. All of the subtlety of the Japanese language was instantly lost.

Well there is one RGG that's got a good English dub, but it's technically not a Yakuza game and it's not available on PC. I'm referring to the Playstation exclusive game, Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise.

I have it on my PS5 and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the English dub.
