I own a physical copy of Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, but the game is still as unplayable as the digital copies when the game server goes down despite it being a mostly singleplayer game.

GT7 doesnt count cause its a crappy always online service game, most other console games can be played offline and the game is on the disc.

If it's not having to download over half the game then it's having to do some sort of day 1 patch because it's too broken to be enjoyable otherwise. I like having physical versions of my favorite games, and for an example as the Assassin's creed fan, I am really glad that all AC games work without any forced downloads.
Yes some games may have bugs, like all of them. That doesn't change the fact if I want to play broken AC Unity, I can and I can still finish it. On PC, I have no legal way of starting up 1.00v of AC Unity.

And now I see that new Yakuza game, series I also love, is getting "digital only" treatment, and at the same time forcing Denuvo on PC to force me to be online while playing a single player game... And only see people making excuses for it. Japan is getting physical version because Digital Only stuff doesn't fly there as easy as on the West.

Last time I played AC Unity on console you had to download around 50 Gb after putting the disc in. Maybe the situation with games like that have changed, but it wouldn't make any sense how it would if the game was already too big to fit on a blu-ray in the first place.

But yeah with this game it's not even getting the digital only treatment. It just is in Western countries for some reason. The only confirmed country even is the US. But if someone wants the physical version it's just as easy to import it as it would be to buy it physical within the country. But again it's a non-issue especially on PC because there hasn't been physical versions of most games for a long time.

??? What are you talking about PC is better, and so is digital, If they take the game away we simply have methods to take back. If the 3DS security was on the same level as like Xbox series X GL being screwed if the store shut down. and if you bring up denuvo, most people cracking have straight up just given up because its a waste of time when people can just buy games, there are still active people who do remove it in modern games, but if steam went down you bet 100% all these games would become DRM free just not from valve :)

Did I say anything about DRM free? No I didn't. Don't bring up something unrelated into it lol. All I said is that PC is digital only and has been for years so there is no need to complain about it on Steam lol

I will give you 3 games that are unplayable on PC in offline mode and cannot be cracked:
COD MW (2019), Black Ops Cold War, Vanguard.
These 3 games cannot be cracked, also Diablo 3 is problematic to play offline on PC.
These 4 games you can simply play offline on consoles once you installed them.
Diablo 3 is full on disc and doesn't even require any patches.
COD MW, BO Cold War and Vanguard - are problematic cause physical editions require updates to play, but once installed you can play them and nobody will take the game away from you. You can also get them on modded PS4/PS5 and you can play them offline, there is no cracking these games on PC.

Actually wrong again if something is taken from us on pc we always rebuild also rpcs3 and xenia exist so still playable, anyway someone has rebuilt d3 and has server emulation, also xiv 1.0 was taken from us and someone has rebuilt that, someone is also on the middle of rebuilding battleborn.
Also mw 2019 has been beaten for awhile now on pc and you can play the campaign solo offline, so we are just at cold war and vanguard, again it all takes time but the more accessible a game is the less work is gonna be put into it.
