When will people realize beautiful game without substance is a useless piece of garbage. You might say that they can do both but they will need more cooking time then which same people like you will cry over it when there's no new game. Putting Emphasis on Graphic will make the gameplay/Fun suffer and its been proven on multiple occasion
I prefer yearly game, reused map and assets but introduce and improving bit by bit for every game. Go and compare Yakuza 6 combat to Lost Judgment, see how much it improves? That ♥♥♥♥ is what makes the franchise thrives. If it work, don't change it.
TLDR: Dont chase beautiful pretty graphics, ♥♥♥♥ only makes your game worse most of the time. Rather find, chase and improve the art style that suited the game like Hi-Fi Rush did. Valheim got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ graphic yet people loves it. Peace Out
Sigh, comparing the dragon engine to PS3 graphic is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and dumb asf. And pretty sure its actually the art style of the franchise that make it look a bit cartoonish. If you can't differentiate both, then maybe you go and play other so called realistic game?
What do you mean by standards lol? Forcing every games to cater to realistic/beautiful graphics market? That's how you kill creativity and fun. I know some people are drooling over beautiful cover and rather sacrifice gameplay/fun over it, but this is just a pure brain dead take. Go play your beautiful trash game like FF15 with an empty world, that's your kind of game right there
Game looks fine, tech doesn't matter as long it works.
It looks fine even for 2023. Tech ≠ good graphics and proper art direction. You can shove latest shaders and raytracing-pathtracing into the game and it will look bad without proper work with lighting, shadowing, texture work, etc. I think you are just trolling.
