Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name

Game looks a whole lot better than I thought it was gonna be
I was expecting a filler game only slightly longer than Kaito Files, but wow, they’re actually bringing back the arena, karaoke, cabaret club, and pocket circuit.

If the combat is anywhere near as good as Lost Judgment especially with the new “agent” style, this game is going to be spectacular.

this game looks like trash bro. the very little gameplay they've shown was terrible.

At least it will be harder than LAD, i hope...
Wait this game isn't an RPG?
(and Kiryu has a magic energy whip/leash?!?!?!?!?)

Why are they using the Like a Dragon name then if it isn't RPG?!?
Waiting for them to make an RPG Yakuza where Kiryu Akiyama and Majima are the main characters, would buy that day one..

All their games have Like a Dragon name in the Japanese 龍が如く( ryu - dragon ga gotoku - to be a like = Like a Dragon)

It seems that translators are trying to be a little more accurate with the name itself though they still miss the numbers

Because Gaiden in JP = LaD 7 Gaiden
Infinite Wealth = LaD 8 infinite wealth

So in Japan they are all called Like a Dragon instead of Yakuza?
Why would they only change it now??!!?!?

So Yakuza like a Dragon (the RPG) is the equivalent to calling the game Yakuza JP Yakuza?!?!? (Mario Mario?!)

How do you classify the different gameplay styles games then???
Thought Like a Dragon was the spinoffs (RPG and ishin)
Kiwami was the remakes.

What does Gaiden signify is that the spinoff term?
(or is that just another term that has no real meaning to further confuse things...)

Guess my main question is, is this a spinoff and is the Magic Ring or magic something that's never been introduced in the series till now?
(i am only aware of Dead Souls having any form of supernatural element or whatever you want to call it)

yes

because previous localisation team thought that "Yakuza" name looks cooler and will bring more sales.

by looking at trailers and reading descriptions.

Yes, it's just a term for spinoff. There are 2 kanji 外 (gai) which means "outside"(for example, outside of the story, different from main story) and 伝 (den) which means "legend", "story" there is also a word 伝説 (densetsu - legend). So basically gaiden is side story.
