tetanus, diseases and gold problems
first of all I reallly like the remake.

I am having trouble mainly with tetanus(wundfieber) however. It basically costs my group fortunes to cure, because a) it occurs so frequently and b) can only be cured by a healer who charges 6-12(!) dukats for a cure disease attempt.

At the start of the game I got wealthy quickly, done the Zwingfeste and got stuff from the Zeughaus. I still had around 50 dukats left after equipping my group and leaving thorwal.

And a few weeks later I am stuck on the secluded Westcoast in Winter, constantly forced to grind gold in pubs with my rogue (I am really lucky I got one otherwise I would have to restart), to a) cure group members of tetanus and b) pay the outragous fees for shiptravel, because traveling is either not possible or I have to travel through the mountains which in winter almost certainly means death or more gold grinding in the pubs to pay for frostbite cures or herbs.

I actually like that the game is that hard, however grinding like this isn't really fun. It would be great to have more ways to obtain gold, like simple quests or trading etc. Or prevent gold loss to make every disease curable by a group member with a high cure disease ability. and why do enemies never drop armor or other valuable stuff to sell? I have basically fought myself poor, because fighting undead means 0-3 group members with infected wounds. you don't even get the chance to actually treat the wounds, tetanus just pops up after the battle out of nowhere iirc.

And this leads me to my criticism of the implementation of the cure wounds talent: if you don't treat wounds (that dont cause immediate tetanus) you never get tetanus. But if you do treat wounds, there is a small chance that the treatment causes tetanus. As a result I have stopped using the cure wounds ability after I caused tetanus again with cure wounds lvl 5. It's more economically viable to ignore wounds or heal them with magic.

IMO it should be the other way around. NOT treating wounds should have a chance to cause tetanus. so realistically after a fight you would have to stop and clean and bandage wounds, and only if your attempts fail several times, there should be a chance to get tetanus.

Wound, Battlefield Fever and Rabies should be curable with Joruga Root.
Also make sure to reduce Violent Temper and try to rest in between battles if possible.

hmm, the disease I have meant is in fact TETANUS in the english version. (wundfieber in german). and it can only be cured by a healer.

This wundfieber aka tetanus aka Traumatic Fever bothered me too, but I found easy solution. Some monsters can infect your char with it in fight. You'll know about it only if you read console messages. If it happened, you have 48 hours until desease shows itself. In this period you can just cast a healing spell (Balm or Witch's Spit) on this char and he will be cured. What a relief!

Witch spit (Hexenspeichel) has a low chance to heal any disease.
So if you have an witch in your group just let her spit all over the patient with 1 AP spell.
Even Tetanus (Wundfieber) can easily be healed this way.
That´s why i realy love to have a witch in my group.

I tried this. Witch succeeded in curing Rabies 2 out of 2 times. But Tetanus... 1 out of 12.
