Start with Leah on a New Run
How do I start with Leah again?

I tried the tutorial but messed some things up so I wanted to start over, but now I have to pick a random character with no option to choose Leah. She is a great starting character and so far the only actual healer I've seen, so starting her is something that seems like it should be an option.

Also, the UI should be clearer which character abilities are innate, and which are actually tied to the weapons.

I lost Leah's heal because I picked a different weapon because it had better attack/damage. I assumed her 'Lay on Hands' ability was innate (because you know, that makes sense for a PALADIN), but apparently it was tied to her sword. Not being able to heal anyone screwed up my run, and now I can't get Leah back, which is annoying, to say the least.

Her rarity was listed as "Event" and her description makes reference to the tutorial, so I assume she's only available for that.

You can select the character's weapon to see what skills it provides, which tells you which skill you will lose if you swap the weapon out. I can also confirm that there is at least one other healer in the starting set of characters (I got RinTin on my second run), it's just luck of the draw on whether you get him or not.

If it's any consolation, I found her healing ability to be pretty weak by the end of my first run, and the game is designed to be done over many runs, so you'll have to make a party without her eventually anyway.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. First of all, yes I agree, the UI on which ability gets replaced especially could be clearer, I'll look into that. You can hover over the weapon like Grakor said to see it, but that's not enough.

As for starting again with Leah, that is indeed not possible. She is intended for the Tutorial and however far you get during that first run. The reasoning behind that is that she is powerful yes, but mostly due to how tanky she is. This being a roguelite means you get quite a bit stronger in future runs, so she is intended to give you a fighting chance on your first run.

That said, I understand the wish for healing and indeed RinTin is your only option at the start (though there are a few unlockable characters with heals as well). Mata has some self-healing as well.

The best and easiest way to get some healing though is through the Permanent Charm 'Free Samples', which can be unlocked as soon as you get any Hero Points in the Progress menu (in the main menu). It's not in combat healing, but personally, I think that's better, so you don't have to spend a turn doing it.

Leah's sword (the Paladin Sword) is also a rare option in weapon events by the way.

Good luck!
