I managed to get the game working once, but then the next day when I tried to play it again I encounted the same problem again, and the method I posted before did not help to fix it. So it must have been a fluke. Removing my other monitor did not help.
At that point I was too fed up to bother fixing it again so I dropped it and moved on, but I'd still like to play the someday.
What gus_ral described it exactly what happens when I try to launch it now.
I just don't know why developers are allowed to release games that don't either launch in desktop resultion, or come with a launcher where you can select your resolution and graphics options (windowed or not) before launching the actual game. Why is this so hard to do? It should be mandatory. I payed you money and got nothing.
No matter if it says to launch fullscreen or windowed, or 1920x1080 or 1024x768, it wont take notice of the differences and keeps launching at the same res (don't know what it is, but wont fit my screen) and in fullscreen mode, so all I see is black while hearing the sounds of the splash screen and language select menu. If I force it to minimize and hover over the EC icon I can see a thumbnail of the language select screen, if I click that thumbnail, the LS screen sometimes pops up, but it's frozen and clicking wont do anything.
I have already tried to put it read only, or non read only and all that, deleting it, making a new one, etc... doesn't help. The game refuses to take notice of anything in the config file.
I have some issue to follow the step-by-step you provide. But first I would like to inform that I have edited my previous post with more information regarding my System Config etc...
The problem is the game only creates a config.ini after you have succesfully choosed the language, which is impossible due to the mouse issue on clicking attempts...
Also when using the config.ini provide here there's also a problem, chaging it to "fullscreen=False" on my computer doesn't change anything, it pop-up as windowed but then automatic change to Full Screen, and when I try to change the Resolution on the config.ini it crash, giving the same error Mandalore spoked early.
I'm really happy that you guys are responding fast, but the fix provide didn't fixed my issue. I still need help to get my mouse working on this game

I have my steam folder and all the games on it installed on an external hard drive U:/ and windows is on a smaller internal C:/ drive.
I really appreaciate you guys' patience and help so far, btw.
Though if I press anything before I get's to the language select screen it will freeze immediatly as I click any button.
Also, what does your DEP settings look like?
You can check by right-clicking my computer > properties. Click "Advanced system settings" in the left hand pane > go to Advanced tab and click "settings" under Performance. Then go to the Data Execution Prevention tab. What setting is it set to there?
