Diplomacy

I try to play maximum peacefully, i maxed my diplomacy, take 2 scolar, now i see very hard diplomacy check, what i can't do. I found man, Miguel, but he don't want to join to my party, because it large. Is there another way to increace diplomacy? Or how i can make one of my follower leave? I don't want to kill anyone. I have Lazlo, Isabel, wife Tayanna, Anacaona in my party, maybe someone of them have o option to leave? Or my fears is nothing, because there is no valuable very hard diplomacy checks for peaceful finishing game?

If you have not yet rebuilt the fort you can loose one of your followers there for a few days while you go pick up Miguel.
