There feels like an input lag, and the animations are choppy as hell (janky and clunky, not smooth transitions at all) which further contributes in making it feel more... unresponsive.
The physics, hitboxes and collision boxes are also one of the worst in the genre, so they definitely do not help.
There are many other bugs too, the kids tried co-op mode and it also is a complete unplayable mess - a can of worms on its own. On top of that, they thought the controller was broken because apparently not all buttons work on menu. For example, only the sticks work in options, can you imagine that?! They did not enjoy it at all sadly.
I also believe one of the first "mounts" you get, has a trans flag default skin (blue hair, pink skin/wart and a white belly) . I am generally not against that, but it has no business in a children's game if you ask me.
I can go on and on, but I have refunded and moved on, I can make a review topic here if you are interested, the game has more bugs and issues than written here. But what made me finally refund is even after the removal of Denuvo, it still has very poor performance issues and stuttering! Like HOW for a simple game like this?!
I think the only good part is the music, because if I am not mistaken it is from the composer of our beloved classics (Donkey Kong). Other than that, I can't recommend this game in good faith, there are many better (and cheaper) alternatives. If you insist, go ahead and try it and form up your own opinion, after all, this is just my own - and the kids' - experiences.
This reads like you've never played the game. Idk, just something about the way you describe things.
I had no stutters at all, and co-op with my gf is very responsive, both with good performance and responsive controls. I think the issue lies in your hardware.
I'll agree that the d-pad not working in the menu is pretty annoying, and I hope they fix that, but you're definitely blowing this all out of proportion.
Such a shame I wasted my keystrokes, but I hope someone else reads my post and makes up their mind. You can clearly see I am not the only one having the issues by forum topics here and reviews.
Blocked by the way, do not bother responding.
