I'm so sad with currently gamming state.
Posing as indie allows large companies to deceptively exploit the goodwill and trust reserved for genuine independent creators, masking their corporate practices to manipulate consumer perception and lower scrutiny.
Sorry to doubt, but do You have any sources to back the claim?
Hi lukaself! MY.GAMES is based in Amsterdam in The Netherlands, and stopped operations in Russia over a year ago. Knights Peak is a division of MY.GAMES dedicated to publishing amazing premium titles like Nikoderiko: The Magical World.
While it's true that the publisher is big, the developers are a small independent team. Many indie developers seek out publishers to ease their workload for release and help reach as many players as possible through marketing.
VEA Games are a small company dedicated to creating games inspired by ones they loved from childhood. And as for Knights Peak, we're here to enjoy a magical co-op platformer, and help as many players as possible enjoy it too!
Regarding Denuvo, it CAN have impact on performance if a game is especially heavy on resource consumption - which is not the case with Nikoderiko, a game designed to run even on older computers. We understand the frustration about Denuvo, but it does help smaller games to avoid piracy for a time.
As someone who presumably also loves platformers and co-op games, and maybe even wants to support the developers behind Nikoderiko, we hope you understand that we want them to receive all due credit and funds for their hard work.
I hope this helps in understanding our current position, we hope you give Nikoderiko a shot!
Anyway, while I would have loved to pick this up to play with a friend through remote play together, I've gotten a good Christmas themed game during the recent sale I can play instead you until decide to find an alternative solution that doesn't require an online check.
