Wondering about the difficulty
I'm not saying this needs to be difficult per se but I'm actually hoping(!) for something akin to the Donkey Kong games (very fair but with some more elaborate sections). I normally wouldn't have brought this up but the Steam-Page is so obviously going for the "family friendly"-vibe (again: maybe I'm not the demo eventhough I LOVE platformers) that I'm kinda afraid of another "Super Lucky's tale" (as in the game basically plays itself).

Edit: Don't get me wrong tho, Lucky's Tale is a very charming game ;-) I'd just prefer a game inspired by DK and Crash to be a little bit more ... "spicy" ^^"

At best there should be difficulty settings (like having lives or not) or making the optional content actually challenging.

I just hope it's that as "family friendly" as Super Lucky's Tale - a game that was very charming and also so easy that I was basically falling asleep while playing. Even as a kid I would have felt underchallenged.

I don't think the developers will be dropping by anytime soon.

In an interview they said the game was very accessible with different difficulty modes, allowing younger kids to play it too. But it was initially built and balanced for hard mode, with gaming veterans in mind.

Developers have all left.

And that's good.

That sounds cool :-)

I’m playing it on ps5 right now. It’s got an easy mode and normal mode.

I’ve only gotten to world 3 so far, but what I’ve played has been a fun time. The secrets are hidden cleverly. It really is like playing a dkc game. There’s no lives so you just restart from the last checkpoint if you die in a stage without any consequence that I’ve seen besides a death tally that goes against a deathless run achievement.

I would say this is a far cry from Super Lucky’s Tale. It’s not that easy but it’s also not punishing like Ghouls and Ghosts either. I think it is satisfying, probably more so if you play it with a friend! :pug:

How are you playing on PS? Was it priorized for consoles with PC coming later? :-O

The PC version is TBA.

It Is out NOW on Switch and PS5.

The general reception has been good but the communication w/ developers and publisher GOD AWFUL.
I've been playing normal mode on switch and it got me pretty good sometimes. Normal difficulty starts mellow but gets to like DKC2 level by the second world. You have a death counter instead of lives, but you will have to re-collect all the message bottles, gems, fairies, etc.

Can you change them on the fly?

It's for kids. They'll use that as an excuse to not make the game actually challenging, then nerf it for the normal difficulty.
