promblems with a sell sword

hello im kinda new to this game, but i am having a problem with a sell sword that i hired, for some reason it does not appear anymore even if i am in battle, but it keeps taking my money how do i resolve this?

Sellswords are easily distracted, but should rejoin you whenever you enter a new area. Track them down (by zooming in anywhere on the overworld, using stairs, or searching your current floor of the dungeon) and talk to them.

i entered into a dungeon hoping the sellsword would join but the npc does not apper but it keeps taking away the money i dont know what to do

all i had to do is make sure i coudnt pay him anymore and it dissapeard thank aniways
