Fire is overpowered
Like 80% of my deaths are from getting set on fire with no water nearby. I saw a scale cloak in the shops once or twice before I could afford it. Now that I can afford it, it hasn't showed up in the shops.
Water is hard to come by, and the fire debuff from lava spouts deals like 250 damage! It's infuriating. Especially in Below The Keep where you're forced to backtrack through the lava room over and over.

yeah same, Most of my deaths are from fire. at if you get lit on fire, its like 80% of you health bar gone till the debuff is done. they could stand to nerf it a bit.
Theres also, I believe, a [BUG] with the flame balls (??) that pop out of the lava lakes and set the ground momentarily on fire. Sometimes, it's not momentary, and the fire will not despawn until you leave the screen. Just one tile over the edge is enough, then it instantly despawns. This is super aggravating in rooms where there is already a dizzying amount of flame balls popping in and out and you are just getting roasted out of your potions.
The Wintersomething Amulet helps a lot with that - if you wear that then you pretty much only need water if you get set on fire while oily, otherwise you can pretty much just walk through fire all you like. Which also feels like a bug since it's only supposed to be 50% flame resistance. :)
I agree, bleed and fire are very strong in this game—at least against the player from what I've noticed.
just wish you could fill empty vials with water , would mitiate that nicely w/o beeing unbalanced
I used at least a dozen potions getting through the Below The Keep dungeon... and yet I have no idea where to go next.

Only a surety that the prisoner wasn't what they thought he was.
there is a cape with 55%(i forgot the real number, but its close) flame resistance called scaled cape, use that and you will be good

wintertree amulet got the same effect but i recommend using scaled cape more so you can use other amulet
Scaled cape is 25% iirc. Basically any amount of resistance prevents a lava ball from igniting you in one hit, which makes the Shield of Warding very useful, but the status buildup takes forever to go away so if you get hit again by basically any fire you'll get afflicted.
Have you tried using the devotion skills that reduce the status time and recovers HP.
really? like i have no isses with fire after just finding fire res stuff but before finding it i just walked around with water and lots of small healing pots on my inventory (they were pretty cheap in both my runs so far)

i hate the part where fire sometimes seems to not despawn if it's on screen, it's pretty annoying :/

also winterwathever amulet makes fire a joke, good luck finding it, it's pretty busted for a certain quest :v

I've been grinding amulets and repeatedly checking stores for any equipment that offers fire resistance but haven't gotten any (despite 3-4x coiled amulets, lightning amulets, etc), even with the shield of warding, fire is the biggest danger to me in relic dungeons by far
the only thing i can say to you is get some fire res item even if a little :/

aside from that... keep yourself wet when you can on dungeons and pay attention to the fire particles near lava :v
There are many abilities that let you spend energy to purge status effects. Use them?
i just killed the boss sleathen without much fire res, you need to know when to back away cause it was really easy to just stall when i needed

i lost half my health to fire one moment but a simple healing potion did the job ._.
I highly recommend Conversion from the Lord of Dust tree. Heals you and helps remove status effects
