Locked doors in minor ruins with no keys?
Title. Pretty confused as to how I'm supposed to get through or if I even am. Also, where in God's name is Barrow-Linn?

There's a ferry at Moon-upon-Thoss to get to Barrow-Linn. Find the NPC!

I've only been to one dungeon, but there were two locked doors with no keys.

That being said, those doors led to literally nothing. One was an extra door leading back outside, and one was a wall I could just walk around.

trigger plates on the floor might be what you are missing for locked doors.

There are many minor ruins I have found with locked off areas and no apparent way to open them. I figured maybe a problem for later in the game.

I have found keys in barrels, and little key goblins that run around, as well as unlocking doors with pressure plates on the ground. So far, each dungeon has had a way to open every door.

I think they're talking about the robot-filled ruins, not the actual dungeon-dungeons. I'm pretty sure you can lockpick the doors on those.

These are explicitly not dungeons; they are overground ruins filled with machines.

Oh my bad! I'm still pretty early on.

There is one pretty much right outside Moon-upon-Thoss (first town).

So... those are randomly generated. Their positions are, too. All their locked doors require lockpicks.

I wandered into Bael's Tomb and there is a chest requiring a chest key I can't find. I even found a secret door and I was like "Finally, this must be where it is" but still no key, just a few more bookshelves.

The key is hidden in a completely different location. what is a place associated with tombs?

I think most people forget lockpicks exist. I felt really dumb when I realized I had a pile of them and could have opened all those doors at any time.
