Sword Art Online: Integral Factor

Well, it was fun while it lasted....
I've played the game on steam for over 100 hours without a crash but since the maintenance last night, the game always crashes within about 10-15 seconds of opening it. I typically don't even make it to the loading screen that happens before you see the title screen.

I've tried verifying, reinstalling, moving it to a different drive, all the compatibility options like run as admin or run as windows 7, 8 etc, even rebooting the computer, nothing changes....

And since I'm not seeing a flood of complaints about this, it's probably not happening to most people.... Still if anyone has a suggestion I'll try it.

the game is updating new anti-cheat, try disable your antivirus for testing

Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't help. Even with windows defender disabled, it still crashes.

The only clue I have is after every crash, if I try validating the files, a single 8.5 mb file gets redownloaded but of course steam doesn't tell me which file....

edit: currently running a malware scan cuz I don't know what else to try at this point. It pisses me off because it worked fine before last night >.<

edit2: malware scans found nothing, back to square one...

I've identified the file that fails to validate when I verify integrity but I'm not sure how much help that is since I have no idea what to do with that info...

anyways it's a file called xmag_x64.xem in the game folder SAOIF\SAOIF_Data\StreamingAssets\{1B0E0030-4688-4F6C-BB09-347371793A08}

Update: I fixed it in the most convoluted way possible and I'll leave this here in case it helps anyone else.

What I did was install google play beta, then transfer my account there. I then tried starting the steam version and it said something about my account having been transferred and how it would start a fresh account. When I got to the title screen on steam I did the transfer again, this time from google play to steam and it worked. I can play again and all it cost me was all my gems (just about 2000 of them at the time of transfer).

remember to use all of your gems before transfer, or you can save gems in mail (1 month mail will expire)
xmag_x64.xem is part of xigncode anti cheat
