Goto system advanced settings and change to perfomance mode and then goto game options and turn everything on medium it worked for me :)

I've the same problem as well... During the cinematic, the game is closed automatically and the error pops up. My resolution is 1366x768. I think the problem is about the resolution which the game doesn't support. We may be expected to go down to 1280x720 or wait for NVidia next competible drivers...

I am just typing this message after getting the error as usual. I posted this issue on two topics, but nobody cared. Hopefully, it's fixed...

This time I've got an error, "D3D Error: 0x8876017C", popped when I tried to oto-configurate the video settings.

I emailed Netherreals, I do not expect to hear anything back but hopefully I do, the game seems fun, it's just really annoying this is happening, hopefully they sort it quickly. It's pretty much the only fighting game that I like.

I figured that it is a issue with dual graphic card system installed on my laptop (Intel 4000/ ati radeon). The cinematics only crashes when using my radeon card (during fights actually the game goes well with ati card). Well I simply take out the power cable form my laptop during story cinematics (it switches to energy saving mode automatically, using Intel 4000 card) and it woks fine - easier and quicker than manually switching modes. Yes, I know it may sound funny, but maybe it will help you:)
I get this error in story mode after a few fights. I have a gtx 780. The game runs fine in every other mode but story. There is no way my card isn't good enough for this game. I get the error and it also says my display drivers have failed. Game needs a patch.

heh... i have this error too... But not only in story mod ) =

There is a thing called "Auto-Configuration" in video options. That might reduce the quality, But it worked for me!

in win7 x64 have no problem at max settings... win8 was the reason

Win 7 x64 has this crash; so nope. It's most likely the game. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Well this is dissappointing, I would have hoped it would have been fixed by now :/
DedMorozzz Aug 27, 2013 @ 10:47am
same problem, how fix it?
Snackary Mar 12, 2014 @ 4:24pm
I get an Application Error upon booting up the game. It says "D3D Error: 0x88760874". I just applied the fix since I was getting popups about my video card and not enough memory and just when it starts to load... crash.

I was looking forward to playing this, but now I'm more frustrated than anything. I can't believe I just paid for this crap. smh
