Found out what was causing my slow motion

I happened to plug in my Headset and disabled my HDMI audio and used my onboard sound now the game runs @ 60 fps...Worked for me see if it works for someone else.

COuld you write the steps you did please? not sure if we understand what you said. I have a terrible slow-mo issue too

Plug in a headset or speakers to your 3.5mm audio jack of your sound card. Then right click on the speaker beside the clock found on your taskbar. Find your HDMI audio and right click on it select disable. Then find your sound card in that same section and either enable it if it's disabled or select it as default.

Hm, I can confirm shutting down all sound devices somehow boosted performance from 45 FPS to 57-60 FPS on a PC I'm testing MK on.
OP, I think you've found something interesting that developer's attention should be drawn to. That may help in making a patch.

It worked for 20 minutes, then it returned to the slow-mo state. :(

I don't know what happened. It's not the stages though, because when I first tried it out, I went into practice, then the ladder, but now even the practice stage is moving in slow-mo once more.

I'm back to the unchanging 40fps regardless of video settings. LOL. That was a nice experience of what i'm supposed to be playing though.

Strange mine is still running smooth as butter. Check to see if somehow it re enabled it.

Hmm. Could be UE3's built-in frame smoothing feature is/was playing tricks on you guys, although I'm not sure how that could be related to sound hardware. Usually UE3 games automatically crank the FPS down to about 30-40 when the framerate falls significantly below 60. That can be turned off via ini, but in this case it's encrypted and can't be changed. But that's just my theory.

I'm thinking it's something in the background that's making it slow down. In other words, we all have to disable something in the background, but we need to figure out what that "something" is. In this case, it was the HDMI audio for ^4(TTK) ^9Scorpion.

Probably it's not for laptop users? I dont see anythign there saying " HDMI audio"... Thank you anyways :(

Hope the patch will be there or this game goes down. Sad, because i've been waiting for it since 1997....

Yes I do NOT have a laptop. I did this on a AMD desktop. Don't think it will work for laptops

Hmm, I'll have to give this a try. Were you using hdmi audio or was it just the fact that other sound devices were enabled causing problems?

At the time of my slow motion I was using the HDMI audio. I am still using HDMI for video but am now using my onboard sound card for my sound.
