If your desktop resolution is set to a 16x10 resolution, any 16:9 resolution (such as 1920x1080) will not show up. The only way to enable 1080p is to have your desktop running at a 16:9 aspect ratio.

My PC is 1920x1080 and the game forces 720P. I've manually set 1920x1080 in the config file but it still opens at 720P.

Try setting the file to read-only.

I did that as mentioned in the main post. My buddy is having the same issue. Funny though, i installed it on my old htpc for ♥♥♥♥♥ and gigs and it auto detected 1080p, but its on a GT430 and obviously can't handle it.

The new HTPC is i5 3570K / GTX 660ti
