Anyone else have this problem? Googling it just brings up DirectX results.

maybe, i dont know,,,,list your specs....always list specs when asking technical questions like this.
Sephrax Jul 3, 2013 @ 11:12am
This is because DirectX10/11 isn't backwards compatible.

try reinstalling direct x, Here you go http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-gb/aboutGFW/pages/directx.aspx
whoa....dont go that drastic....troubleshooting problems like this, you always sstart off with the easiest option, never get that drastic until trying other alternatives, such as updating drivers.

uhhh, no, so long as his card is directx 9, or 10, or 11, he can play this game.

Isn't it that DirectX 9 isn't supported by this game?

maybe, but i find it odd that his error message says "requires direct 3d9" so maybe thats the case, who knows, but i dont get why we're all jumping to conclusions when he hasnt even listed anyspecifics or specs....thats like saying a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is actually a girl, without checking to see if theres a penis......lol

Why people come on the fourm knowing the specs and still try doing the impossable?
Enadir Jul 3, 2013 @ 11:57am
I have geforce 460ti and windows 7 - still same problem Requires Direct3D 9.0c on Windows Vista and above

If you run game directly from .exe file this error disappears

I'm very disappointed. I bought the game without even checking if it runs on XP because I assumed that 99% of games do. And yeah, that's true, but this belongs to the 1%.

I'm pretty angry with myself for being such a ♥♥♥♥ and not reading the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ requirements.

I get the same error. I have windows vista 64bit. A core i73930k and a gtx780 with 12bg system ram. Tried it all and stil nothing
just load it up from the .exe in the steam folder as enadir suggested works fine now
