MK not detecting graphics card?
My MK is running really slow, and I've read about the fix where you can go into your dxdiag to change the memory and such, but when I try to do that, the information under graphics isn't my nvidia card, it's my integrated gfx. In addition, I changed the game to run off my GPU but it still runes relatively slow and online is pretty much unplayable. The dxdiag doesn't change to match my GPU but stays on integrated. Any way to fix this?

Is this a laptop with a seperate Nvidia graphics card? If so you can force the Nvidia card to always be used in 3d games rather than the default which is "Auto".

You've only given limited information, but your graphics card might not be upto the job on the default graphics settings and you may have to lower the game graphics settings to get it to run smoothly.

Yes, it's a laptop with a separate Nvidia graphics card. I've already got it set to be used in the game and I can smoothly play games like Street FIghter 4 on highest settings with little to no frame lag.

THe problem isn't me having a graphics card working, it's having the game recognize the graphics card (I think). When I look at the dxdiag file in %appdata%/MKKE, it shows my Intel HD graphics in the graphics portion so I can't change the amount of memory allotted. As a result, my game runs as if it's underwater.

Are you reading part of the DxDiag report?

Sometimes you can alter the amount of system memory available for the Intel HD graphics either in the bios or from the Intel Utility/control panel. Is it the HD3000/4000 graphics ie combined type CPU/GPU Intel Chip? Either which way if you have a reasonable Nvidia card I'd use that as the card memory is dedicated.

What Nvidia card is it? It could be that you are running on the integrated HD graphics and could get better frame rates on the Nvidia card. Trying to alot more system memory to the Intel GPU is a bit crazy for a game like this and you'll probably find that the memory usage is set to Auto and that will vary depending on the amount of system RAM you have installed.

The whole idea of a dedicated graphics card in a laptop is for it to have better performance than the integrated GPU/CPU chip.

In my laptop I have an I5 2450 and a GT525M. I Don't Use my laptop for gaming. But when i have checked out the performance between the HD3000 integrated GPU it doesn't stand up very well against the GT525M at all.

EDIT: Excellent site to check out Mobile Graphics card benchmarks is:-
http://www.notebookcheck.net

I find just a google of your cards model number finds the site and your card near the top of the google results. Here's my laptop cards info for example:-

EDIT 2: Also a graphics utility called GPU-Z is really useful for checking the details of your graphics hardware PC/Laptop:-

Hope you manage to sort it out.
