Game won't launch [SOLVED]
I've got some weird problems getting this game to launch, what happens is that the Mortal Kombat Logo appears but instead of launching I get two Error Messages.

First my system:

Acer Aspire 5755G
Intel i7-2630QM 2Ghz
NVIDIA GT 540M 2048MB DDR3 (dedicated)/ 4095 Total available
8GB DDR3 RAM

Now.....

1. D3D Error: Your monitor's aspect ratio of 683:384 is incompatible with this game.

Now this raised an eyebrow as I never had any game ever complain about the aspect ratio of my screen, at the very least I should be able to start it in window mode at whatever resolution it pleases your Highness.....

2. Your system does not have sufficient video memory to play this game.

*Sigh* Well this is even more puzzeling since actually it does, but my uneducated guess is that the game is trying to access the integrated Intel Graphics Adapter instead of the NVIDIA Card, even though I specifically set Mortal Kombat in the NVIDIA Control Panel to use it. I'm running Skyrim, Tomb Raider, XCOM Enemy Within, Borderlands 2, Bioshock Infinite etc. just fine (not on ultra settings admittedly, but high) so I can't quitte picture how Mortal Kombat would need more VRAM than these games or why I doesn't recognize my NVIDIA (all other games do and driver is up to date).

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be keen to hear them, thanks very much!

Same problem (but I'm not getting error messages, it's just hanging then disappearing). Haven't played in a wee while, and I've been trying to launch it :/
Don't have any issues with any other games, and been playing Injustice for the last couple days, so this is a tad bizarre...

I figred it out by now, although I've got to say the solution by itself shows that there is a whee bit something wrong with the developer support here, but oh hell....
What you do is go to C:\Users\"yourusername"\AppData\Roaming\MKKE There, you open dxdiag.txt and find the line "Dedicated Memory:" Replace whatever number there is with: "Dedicated Memory: 1024 MB" . Set the dxdiag.txt to read only after that so MKKE can't mess it and then it should run (provided you DO have the actual hardware).
Runs perfectly fine now on my system.
I take no credit for figuring this out, I picked it up from here http://steamcommunity.com/app/237110/discussions/0/864972620855443460/

Didn't work for me, unfortunately :/

Ah, sorry to hear that. Weird. For me the error was that the game thought I had much less ram than I actually have and wouldn't start because of that. Perhaps your issue is another one.

It's been running fine since I purchased it. Got a game in here and there. Tried to launch it today, and nothing.
I've only had an issue like this twice ever, on two other games. The first was a simple fix (changing something in the .ini file), the second, well, Steam decided that there was no longer support for it in my region, so I got geo-blocked for a couple of months.
Oh well, I'm sure I'll find a solution eventually. Not even sure WHY I decided to get a quick game in today (besides my love for Netherrealm, of course). I guess I just wanted to see some fatalities (the only thing Injustice is lacking in)

I had the same problem. This solved:

- First enable " show hidden files " in your folder settings.
- Then locate AppData (it's a hidden folder inside of a folder with your name/nickname.
- Click to Roaming.
- Locate MKKE.
- Delete "options" file. (MK will generate new one in start up)

I got it here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/237110/discussions/0/558746995054318384/

Thanks, but I figured that one out about 10 days ago. Still sad that something like this is actually neccessary :/
