Wish they would re-release it, but they are so caught up in future titles it is likely that the only way anyone will ever experience it again is by either spending an arm and a leg for it, or pirate it.
It's only that expensive because the codes are now finite due to the removal of the sale. As more people buy the game, less codes will be available, leading to an increase in price. If you want the game, now is the time to buy it.
The problem is it's way better than X and XI
Source????
Yes, MK9 is better than X and XI but do you have a source about why mk9 was delisted?
Truth is that licenses are the issue, this kind of games are at risk of being delisted specially if they are old and sequels are planned. X and XI will suffer the same fate same as MK1.

Spec Ops to be delisted entirely from online gaming stores (not just Steam) "Spec Ops: The Line will no longer be available on online storefronts, as several partnership licenses related to the game are expiring...
Reason? Probably the licensed music. Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, Mogwai, Alice in Chains, Björk etc...
Any game that have at least an ounce of licensed content, will die: Not only music, but also real life weapons, vehicles, celebrities and even buildings (like the Burj Khalifa or the illuminating Eiffel Tower).
I strongly recommend follow “Games at a risk of removal” on Steam, and see which games will get the boot specifically those who already are on the 10 year mark and sold poorly.

simpsons hit & run???? only available in abandonware sites and fan sites, why is not being sold officially? copyright, license issues obviously.
keep telling yourself that licenses are not an issue, all of the above is proof enough that licensed content is a death sentence.

Sony removing content you "purchased" from your libraries, that's hilarious, and square enix removed a game from steam but not only that but valve also removed the game from everyone's libraries cuz had always online drm.
Sadly the only way to get those games is with keys or becoming jack sparrow.
number 1 even frickin meta ai of all things admitted it
2 why is freddy still in the mobile game if he was the reason for MK9 removal
and 3 if u have the nightmare on elm street 2010 movie on dvd or even on streaming load it up and the WB logo will show.
They Removed MK9 cuz it goes against what they stand for now
The rights to the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" franchise, including the character Freddy Krueger, are owned by the estate of Wes Craven.
While the estate of Wes Craven has the rights to the character and franchise, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema retain the international rights.
Is it 9, 10 or 11? Or something else?
