Dawn of Sorrow was the most disappointing metroidvania I've ever played

Finally got around to beating it.

Have played all the metroidvania now.

This game sucked. Map was bland, bosses were boring, no dracula boss, supporting cast sucked, and final boss was horrible.

I really enjoyed Soma's first game but this one was shocking.

Compared to Portrait of ruin and God tie order of ecclesia this game sucked.

Yeah, I think Dawn ties Harmony of Dissonance as worst of the Igavanias. Portrait and Ecclesia tie Symphony for the best. The only redeeming feature is Julius mode. It's weird how much of a downgrade Dawn feels compared to Aria.

Just finished DoS yesterday and I can only agree. Massive step down compared to Aria.
I did play it (and PoR & OoE) on my DS a long time ago but I didn't remember Dawn was this bad.

SOTN is super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ overrated imo. It has a massive problem that with its lack of difficulty.

Well yeah, compared to OoE it is hard for most Castlevania games to compete. I still like Dawn of Sorrow though. I like Soma as a character. Shame the art style was better in the first game.

Yeah SOTN has always been overrated it's way too easy. Needs 10x the difficulty in the inverted castle, hopefully with the eventual PC port there's a good mod.

Have you tried the Ori games or hollow Knight ? They are fantastic
