Dawn of Sorrow - is the Chaos ring glitched?

I have all the required souls and seals, yet the ring didn't appear in the Frost area for some reason. Still threading through the Abyss, about to fight Abaddon.
Any clues or am I just dumb?

You need to have at least one of each souls in your inventory (e.g if you used a soul for weapon synthesis you need to collect another copy). Assuming a first playthough, if you have yet to fight Abaddon, it means you do not have his soul either, nor black panther who appear a bit later.

I had both, this was NG+ which I forgot to specify. On my normal play through I had used Gergoth's soul for the Clahim Solaris.

Is it possible you are missing an ability soul held by a candle like Hippogriph? Also some souls are taken away upon a NG+ like Procel, Mud Demon, Black Panther so you do need to recollect those again.

I suggest open up the in-game enemy list (not the collection compendium) If you do have all souls, it should say souls 100% . Then also check in the abilties menu to see if you are missing any.

Point is that you don't need Black Panther (at least on DS) to get 100% souls, all you would need to complete is Hippogryph and Mud Demon from the Abyss for the rate.
I had 99.1% before the Ice Room where the Chaos Ring spawns. Not sure what I did incorrectly or if it's indeed glitched, because that's at least what my brain screams at me so.

You do need black panther. (on DS too)

Double post, I do confirm my saying. I just collected Chaos Ring moment ago (purposely keeping Black Phanter as last soul)

No need for an extra playthought (unless you used a boss soul for systhesis), just process forward until you get Black Panther soul then backtack to the room (frozen area with the Frozen Shades in the Abyss.

You can just load the save without starting another NG+.

Thank you, this actually worked. My bewilderment was out of proportions this morning.
