Did you know we have four games called simply Castlevania in EU?
Back in the day I hated when companies released the same games under different names because of various reasons. That is why we in Europe did not know Bloodlines, we knew The New Generation ... lol ...Bloodlines, such an amazing title, replaced by the most generic subtitle ever.

Thus, it is needed to say that every subtitle is better than no subtitle. Because even more I hated when Konami just left out all subtitles to make it even more confusing. So, let us look.

In addition to the first game Castlevania, which was of course named Castlevania and Castlevania released for Nintendo 64 in Europe was also released other two games called Castlevania...

While in the US you had Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, we had just Castlevania
While in the US you had Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, we had just Castlevania

However, there is one exception when a EU name was just better than the one used in the US:

While in the US you had Castlevania: Dracula X, we had Castlevania: Vampire's Kiss

Yup, I knew this and I find it kind of funny.

Did you know that there are five games just titled "Akumajo Dracula" in Japan?

NES Castlevania, Arcade Haunted Castle, MSX2 Vampire Killer, SNES Super CV IV, X68000 Chronicles. All of these have the exact same title in Jaoan.
Interestingly, all five of these have one thing in common - Simon Belmont as the protagonist.

Meanwhile the four games titled Castlevania in Europe have absolutely nothing in common - two different styles of 2D games, and two different styles of 3D games.

And to make things a little more confusing, Bloodlines/New Generation is titled "Vampire Killer" in Japan. (the same title as the MSX2 game outside of Japan)

I agree Vampires kiss is a cooler name than Dracula X. When I got into emulation and retro games I had ran across the vampires kiss name and was all excited and thought I was about to play a new game I had never experienced before only to realize it was just Dracula X for PAL regions.
