Glad i skipped this and went straight to Julius mode.
Because I know there's a Romhack for the original DS release that addresses it here:
https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3407/
the 777 Armor plus maxed Ghost Dancer soul was enough to get 2 Armor Knight souls in around 10 kills.
The Valkyrie, which took me 30 minutes with the same setup before on DS, now took me 4 kills.
Even if you cut the divisor's initial number down to 64, 99 luck would almost double drop rates, but doubling a 1% chance is still a very low chance. This is why the romhack elects to simply make 1 luck = +0.1 drop chance
In other words, luck is a placebo.
Hopefully the maker of the tool for the CV Advanced collection will update it. Doesn't seem to work for this.
You are not guaranteed a Valkyrie soul every 30 minutes. That's basically the gambler's fallacy.
You are in denial if you think 999 luck will give me guaranteed spear drops, but not souls chalks down to bad luck.
Trying to get the Frankenstein's Monster ( The Creature ) soul for health regeneration, went from like Level 11-13 and now level 23 will no soul still lol.
Having 100%'d hacks that "fix" luck in DoS, I think they end up making luck overwhelmingly powerful in mitigating rare drops. I can see why this would be a good thing for a lot of people of course, and it was certainly refreshing to so easily acquire infamously rare souls as a result, but yeah- it breaks things in its own way. Definitely a "mileage may vary" kind of matter depending on how much statistical resistance you think is appropriate towards rare equipment.
