Soul Rarity / (512 - (Luck / 8))
So yeah every 8 points of luck decreases the denominator by 1. Better than Aria I suppose where it was every 16 points instead.
So you've created your own topic and are now linking to it, as if it's like "It's already been answered!".
You could also have, you know... just posted your observations here instead?
For context, raising your luck from 36 to 99, at least in the original versions, amounts to about a .03% increase in drop chance. Which is to say that all gear and souls that increase luck are functionally worthless.
I'm more curious about hardmode. I remember reading hardmode increases the effects of luck by 4x. 4x 0.03% is just a 0.12% though.
Supposedly 'twice' the droprate, but I can't say I notice a whole lot of it because none of the actually hard souls I want come quickly. Been killing Final Guards with it since level 40 for like half an hour up till level 46 right now and I haven't gotten a single drop after killing well over 100 of them.
But heck even the basic zombies with 2 star souls have taken me over 50 with the ring at times to get a single one (and nearly 150 without). Honestly, I'd say that the incredibly poor soul droprate in Dawn of Sorrow is the biggest issue in the game (along with the fact that souls are basically currency for upgrading weapons on top of that). I had some good memories of Dawn of Sorrow, but replaying through all these games it might be one of the worst, if not the worst of the Igavanias. Portrait of Ruin, Order of Ecclesia, Circle of the Moon and Aria of Sorrow are all better. Only game out of the 6 handheld ones I've yet to replay is Harmony of Dissonance.
Specifically, the base games gives you about +0.0008% chance to get a soul per point of luck, the mod changes it to around +0.11% chance per point of luck.
This is the luck fix nexus mod for Dominus collection. Now updated for 1.03 version!
