can't pick up amulet in radio room

I'm on the step where I am supposed to retrieve the amulet from the radio room after knocking out the gaurd. I can get in the radio room, I see the amulet there on the table, but it won't let me interact with it; it acts as if it just isn't there. can't interact with the radio until I pick up the amulet... and I can't pick up the amulet! any ideas for a workaround?

use the radio (if I'm not mistaken, just played it yesterday).

I clicked on something else in the room (might have been the radio, or something else that was interactable), and was annoyed that I immediately went somewhere else and I wasn't able to do anything with the amulet. Thought I missed something, and was afraid I left the amulet in that room, but it turned out to be OK. Just click on whatever the game allows you to and something will happen.
