when the game shipped 2 yrs ago i had a gigabyte factory overclocked 6 gig GTX 1060 .. it was one of the fastest GTX 1060's made due to it being a factory overclocked card , it was clocked up there with the top of the line ASUS cards
and yes the game lagged in 1080 P with ultra settings and even high settings it struggled
with only 3 gig of vram your only gonna be mad because it'll stutter if it even loads >?
the 3 gig GTX 1060's ALL have a lower clock speed then any of the 6 gig models
and well , honestly were pretty much trash
i upgraded to a EVGA RTX 3060 12 gig GPU and play the game fine in 1080 P or 1440 P now
yes far cry 6 needs a whole lot of V ram and a really fast GPU
so i suggest you get at least a 12 gig RTX 3060 or even an AMD 6700 XT card if you want this game to play nice
any card with less then 12 gig of v ram DO NOT INSTALL THE HD TEXTURE PACK on
it will run badly
remember the recommended GPU for this game is in fact a GTX 1080 8 gig card .. they were not kidding about that at all !
on my evga RTX 3060 the game does look gorgeous and plays perfect with the HD texture pack installed with ultra settings a few things turn down one notch ..you can find 12 gig rtx 3060's a whole lot cheaper now too... then i paid for mine, i see em on amazon now under $300 , i paid almost $500 for mine with shipping and had to wait on the EVGA waiting list to even get one 2 yrs ago
ive also seen them at my local microcenter at just around the $300 mark
you will need to check your Power supply too as a 3060 might need a better power supply then you have in your current system .. i upgraded mine when i got my 3060 just to be safe, i had a 550 watt went to a 650 watt EVGA unit
not saying the game wont work on your 3 gig GTX 1060 .. just saying your not gonna have a good time and ..............yes you need a better GPU
