Ubisoft save game work on Steam?

has anyone purchased the game after that free trial weekend Ubisoft had?

i want to buy it on Steam but not sure if the save game is lost from the trial? i'm definitely not starting again! and don't want to waste my money if it doesn't!

or is easier to buy it check it and then refund it?

I have around 200 hours play time on epic and when I purchased the game and launched the game on steam my save was not there, tried to figure out how to transfer the saves but couldnt find any fix yet ...

did it send u thru the uplay store when the game loaded? i thought uplay would have the same game even if u purchase elsewhere.

I thought the same but it apparently does not work with far cry 6 for some reason I don't know.

You can add only 1 save game to the Ubi cloud and this will work (per account!). Does no matter from where the game is bought.

is there a way to locate a EGS save and transfer it to steam's folder ? or it just doesn't work that way due to cloud saves ?

I've only read at Ubosoft that you can upload 1 savegame to the cloud (no matter which platform) and then download it again on any platform. So it should be possible to play with all friends in coops. I haven't tried it myself yet. Since the Ubisoft forums are now closed and are at home on Discord, you can ask them directly. I found an invitation link.

This can either be a simple fix, or a complicated one based on if Ubisoft cloud sync gets in the way, in your case you should be fine as you only played the demo and presumably only played on one save file.

The save files are in your savegames folder, found inside the Ubisoft folder in Program Files (x68) Optionally. if you're on Windows 10-11 you can press the Windows key + R and paste this, then hit enter: %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames

Once you open that folder with the big long number, you'll see folders with 3-4 digit numbers, which are your save folders for any Ubisoft game you own (sort the folders by date modified to make it easier to find your Far Cry 6 folder if there's already folders here) the files will look like this:

character0_1.char.save
character0_2.char.save
saveSlot0_1.sav.save
saveSlot0_2.sav.save

Just copy those files and paste them into a new folder in that same location where the other 3-4 digit folder are that will be called "920" this folder will only exist once you purchase the game through Steam and run it for the first time, but you can just create the folder yourself and paste the files there before the game is actually installed.

Hopefully you can make sense of all that, it can sound a little complicated.

actually makes sense lol i found an old thread regarding the same process for Wildlands so i went looking at the data files and it made some sense, just being 6 year old post thought they might of made it harder but still considering to try it!
