Anyway to play co-op with Uplay overlay disabled?
When the Uplay connect overlay is on, this game will randomly drop to 5FPS. When I go into uplay connect and disable the overlay, it holds solid at 60FPS and never dips. When it goes to this 5FPS it does it for minutes at a time, and my GPU temp goes back to idle temps.

Is there anyway to play the game co-op without the uplay overlay? I have a 10850K/3080 12G/64GB ram/1TB NVM. Should be enough to get more than 5FPS with the overlay on, but my build can't get past shoddy coding with a company that doesn't update known glitches for over 2 years.

it just doesn't work without an overlay, I tried to figure out how to do it but without success. and I have the same problem with FPS with the fact that nothing helped me.

Seems like thousands of people have complained about this for the past 2 years and Ubisoft has done nothing to fix it. I'd post links to the hundreds of threads i've found, and they all end 2 years ago with people saying "We'll wait for Ubisoft to patch it"

Well they never did, and then steam welcomed them with open arms after they weren't making enough money on EPIC.

Interesting how it works though, Ubisoft makes this game so that you don't realize CO-OP doesn't work until you play past the start which takes about 2 hours. After you played for 2 hours, you can no longer refund because you played for too long

Steam is complacent with fraud if they allow developers to do this.

I may have found a solution from reddit:

When playing solo in Far Cry 5 I've had like 40-50 fps, which was playable, but If I connect to my friend's session or create mine, I have low fps(10-20) and constant stutter. I've tried to disable the overlay and it helped, but I wanted to play coop, so here's what I did:

Open task manager

rmb on Ubisoft Connect process

"details"

find upc.exe and a lot of UplayWebService.exe processes

set priority of each of these processes to low and

IMPORTANT! in "Set affinity" leave only one core checked.

Somehow i really helped with FPS and I it only changed behaviour of overlay (it became laggy) but all online features were still working fine.

I'm not a fluent English speaker, so please correct me in the comments if I typed smth wrong

Spec: i5-6300hq, GTX 950m(2gb), 8gb RAM

And it also helped on PC with these specs:

I5-6600k, GTX 1650(4gb), 24gb RAM

Not sure if you even want to play co op in this game, I mean,

they messed up Co op again. Only the host will get his quests done and all the others in your party, will have to redo all quests again. Not sure what kind of genius is messing up their co op all the time so its actually totally useless to play co op at all.
