Man Thanks, that was the fix!
Oh my god, thanks man! Worked for me too!
I am happy to hear that the suggestion of Theo with clearing the Ubisoft Cache (thank you so much for your input here) has helped for you to be able to launch the game again
However, I am sorry boris_sm86 that this step has not helped you in this case
I have a couple of steps here that could help resolve the issue for you to launch the game again. If you don't mind trying, the following steps for me:
1. Delete the Download Cache on Steam. That can help with certain issues.
https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6AD7-820D-8BE5-E51F
2. Restart your PC and login to Steam. Once logged in, try to repair your storage folder as this can also help to resolve certain issues with game files that are damaged, missing or corrupted. On the Steam client, click on Settings >> Storage >> click on the 3 dots on the top right >> Repair Folder
3. Verify your game files:

Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
sorry that the issue still persists for you
To get a better overview on this, would you mind providing us the following information:
1. Could you let us know some of the specs of your system?
- OS you using
- CPU
- GPU (Including VRAM)
- RAM
2. Do you play on a Laptop or PC Desktop?
3. Is the game installed on the same drive as the launcher, or on different ones?
4. Could you let us know on what type of drive they are installed on? (SSD, HDD, Virtual Drive, External Drive)
Additionally, as you have mentioned that you have tried many steps already to no avail, have you also tried deleting the configuration file?
If not, It would be advisable to delete the configuration file in order to eliminate possible errors in it or to apply the changes in the system to the game. The file will then be automatically regenerated the next time the game is started. The configuration file to be deleted can be found in the following folder by default:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 6\
Let us know how if you have any further queries.
Closed Ubi. Deleted Ubi Cache. Nothing
Verified files in steam. Nothing
Cleared Steam download cache. It worked.
First I would like to thank Theo, Boris_sm86, and Ubi-Dastan for getting me through to a solution that solved THIS problem. Now on to resolve my initial issue that let me to this issue (above).
So back story.....my game launched fine today. I played for a bit but then I got the giant purple squares all over the ground texture. After googling, the only fix I found was to:
1. Start the game, go to the video settings, Enable HD textures and return to the desktop.
2. Start the game again, go to the video settings, Disable HD textures and return to the desktop. (This was the step when Ubisoft and Steam decided to not want to play well together this time).
3. Start the game again and the problem should be solved.
This is an absurd as a solution to get rid of the purple squares, but by doing this I solved the problem and now those purple squares are no longer there. I have had to do this like 3 times in the past 2 weeks.
I'm pleased to hear that your issue with launching the game has been resolved.
However, I am sorry that you have experienced another issue with your graphics in-game. This is not an issue that I have seen before. I did manage to find a Reddit thread mentioning this issue and the workaround that you mentioned.
Can you please confirm your PC specifications. I will then forward this feedback onto the relevant team.
