Huge FPS drop after opening menu or map!
I got huge fps drop from 80 fps to 9 fps whenever I open maps or game menu! I searched all over the web but found no good solution regarding this issue! I don't know why but the game is unplayable I need to restart the game again and after a minute it goes back to 9fps.

this game is very VRAM heavy if using ultra detail with HD Textures, my 8GB RTX 3070 can barely do 1080p at 1.2 scale, I can't set the scale any higher cause it hits around 98% in the leader camps, but runs around 80 - 90% when anywhere else.... so something in the leader camps is not optimized in my opinion.

sorry for all you 2K and 4K guys unless you have a 12GB+ card, it be impossible with HD textures on

Has nothing to do with the HD textures but not at all.
The game runs easily with 100FPS and more.
for inexplicable reasons it happens that you go from the menu back into the game the FPS is totally down in single digits.
This is for me a bug that I had in FC6 while playing through only twice in Ghost Recon it is much worse and is there the same bug.

after watching the videos and a bunch of other articles, the problem has a huge number of players, but as we know from ubisoft. So they will never fix it. So there is only one thing left for us and that is to hope that some player will find a fix for it or an update will come from ubisoft, which is literally a minimal chance. And what really pissed me off is the ignoring of a lot of posts from players in Steam who have the problem, and Ubisoft hasn't even contacted us yet and hasn't let us know that they are preparing a fix for it, but the only thing they can do is to let us know they contacted support, where everyone there behaves like NPCs from skyrim, saying that even if there is a decent person there, they won't solve our problem and probably won't report it to the developers either.

Most people use NVIDIA GPU's, even if you find an issue 5 people have, and all 5 are using NVIDIA GPU's, that doesn't mean the issue is NVIDIA GPU's.

Degraded performance over time like described is almost always due to running out of RAM or VRAM, as the result of a memory leak.

I have 16 GB VRAM, and 64 GB RAM, having less RAM is likely the real commonality.

Happens to me still and I have 32GB ram. My rams not even maxed out when playing this game (it uses like 10%).

Here I have a video of Ghost Recon Breakpoint
I have only rarely the bug through the menu switch but much more often at a place where you leave the cave.
and there very often.

Supposedly everything was sent to the developers but I think nothing will happen.

Oh yes and in the video I have only 60 FPS without the recording I have rather around 80 and more FPS.

I was lucky, I was able to play through it well.
only happened twice.
I suspect that it is also somehow related to G-Sync is such a guess.
but no matter FC6 was much too short and somehow irrelevant the start was not bad but the whole thing reminded me more of Just Cause than Far Cry and the skill system well that did not go at all have the clothes at some point no longer changed.
And Ghost Recon I had the error Often but could also well Durchzocken.
It's just funny that it only affects UBI games.

I played last night without issue. Today I played just fine until I got to a cutscene. Then it ground to a halt.
I restarted and same thing would happen when I entered a menu.
The game would play fine until I opened a menu screen. WTF?
I had HD textures turned off earlier today when it happened the first time.
I've tried disabling a few features, but none of them seem to improve. Sometimes the menu will be fine and the game will slow after I exit, and sometimes the game slows when I enter the menu.

I was having such a good time playing last night.
wtf?

I think I figured it out. Saw the red smoke always running in the background whenever you loaded menu? Yerp. Turn volumetric smoke all the way down. For mid to low end graphics card that can't handle it well, your FPS will still drop. I guess all those useless animation will still load in the background. But at least it will not drop to sub 15fps like me when I haven't turn down the setting. Turning HD texture will works a lot too, but since I saw some comments stating that it did not work for them, I guess it would be the volumetric smoke instead. HD textures setting will kick in once you load arsenal menu specifically, it is when the FPS drop will be very significant for low VRAM GPUs

They probably only tested this game in high-end setting where it could cope with the smoke and arsenal's HD textures
