Cannot unequip/swap out pistol

i cant USE MY DAM PISTOL

I am using a controller, so it may be different for you, but this game is similar to Far Cry 5 and New Dawn. There is a weapons wheel one has to access then hover to the weapon one wishes to equip. For me bringing up the weapons wheel is the LB (hold) controller input, which shows all the weapon slots I have currently unlocked, as well as a holster if I choose to unequip all weaponry.

Press I click arsnel , Choose load out on left , click picture of gun in inventory slot and equip one you want , escape back out to game
Just press 4 for hand gun equipped , same as equipping rifle press 1 , 2 and 3 for those weapon slots .
If you just started game just play it to unlock the weapons in first place .
