Try Re-intall the Ubisoft Connect launcher exit Steam and Ubisoft. Restart and start the game from Steam. You find threads in the forums about this.
If you bought the game 2 weeks ago you may not refund it. Can you log in to your Ubisoft account and it is linked to your Steam account?
As said above Steam/Ubi Launcher should run as admin. It doesn't help you with your problem. but i got the game on Steam 2 days ago and it work/runs with zero problems.
When you launch the game from Steam you get a pop-up window if you want to bind the the game to your Ubi-account and the game run.
You can try search the forums (FC 5/4) "no cd key" and if it doesn't help you just have to contact Ubisoft support. Sorry for your problem.
Yeah my ubisoft account is linked with steam (for a long time) since I have Rainbow six siege and what's weird is that siege does show up in my Ubisoft account and if I launch it from there steam does pop up so idk why it's acing funky for just far cry 6
The same day (on Steam/friend gift)? All hell hell breaks loose if the game is linked to another account than the account you use. Suggest you ask your friend if the game works/installed on his Ubi-account for him/her. You should contact Ubisoft support (web/facebook/twitter). Maybe it goes more easy on twitter/facebook).
Hi again, that maybe be the problem. Maybe your friend hasn't activated the game on his/her account? Suggest you contact Ubisoft support right now as you other Ubi games works fine.
EDIT: FC 6 was released 11.05.23 on Steam and you have 2 week refund window if you get no respond from Ubisoft.
I have exactly the same problem. For me, the first time I launched Far Cry 6 in Steam, the activation did not complete properly. It was not listed in my Ubisoft Connect account. I was also asked for a key by Ubisoft Connect. After 1 week of trying around with the mostly incompetent Ubisoft support, who doesn't read messages properly, the game was manually activated at Ubisoft and is now listed in my Ubisoft Connect Account.
Now I can start it BUT the game time at Ubisoft is not counted, the Steam overlay does not work and therefore no screenshots can be made. Apparently the communication between Steam and the Ubisoft crap still does not work properly.
By trying around the Ubisoft support "ideas" not only 1 week has passed, but 98 min of game time without actually having played.
I love Steam and hate being forced to use the for me unnecessary and totally useless Ubisoft connect. It only causes problems.
