Add an option to disable HD textures and languages in DLCs

I recently purchased a Far Cry 6 on Steam and was disappointed to find out that it automatically installed HD textures and multiple language files without giving me the option to disable them.

After some searching, I found out that I could manually remove these unnecessary files to save space, but it was a tedious process that not everyone may be comfortable with. As a result, it took up a whopping 70GB of extra space on my Steam Deck, which is a huge amount considering the limited storage capacity of most computers. That's why I'm suggesting that game developers add an option to disable HD textures and languages in DLCs, so that players who don't need them can save some valuable space on their hard drives.

I understand that some players may prefer having these options, but for those of us who don't need them, it would be a great way to reduce the game's storage requirements. It would also be a good way to show that developers are listening to the feedback of their players and making an effort to improve the overall gaming experience.

So, if you're a game developer or know someone who is, please consider adding this option to your DLCs. It would be greatly appreciated by many players and would help make gaming more accessible to those with limited storage space.

The other modern Far Cry games have a checkbox for HD textures in the DLC section. I'd say it's only a matter of time before Ubi does the same for this one :3

I'm waiting for that before I install because, you're right, it's just not something I wanna put up with. They should definitely do the same for individual languages too, good point!

Its funny because the languages are installed but you can switch to them (expect subtitles), unless you change it from game properties which changes everything interface, and audio language.

So cant play with mix of english interface and spanish latin america audio.

Yeah!! I'd certainly love to play more games with appropriate dialogue languages based on the setting, but there are so many games that wouldn't let me separate dialogue from subtitles... And I mean, I wanna hear Hispanics speaking Español when it makes sense instead of that Spanglish thing for the sake of American audiences, but I gotta understand the game too! I needs me my English subtitles ;p

Every game ive wanted to change audio language has had this option... mostly japanese games though.

I would appreciate the option, as it has reduced the game's size from 171GB to 87GB with all the DLCs.

In my Ubisoft Connect Launcher there is simply a catch/tick to load the game with or without HD textures. Im on PC but should be the same for all (lol, hope so for you).

Weirdly enough, mine doesnt even download since I bought the game today, I tried everything to make steam download the HD texture pack, it simply doesnt download it

Worse, they screwed up the depots so you CAN'T install the HD textures at all now, because the "HD Texture Pack" links to depot 2432590, but the HD textures were moved to depot 2369392, so it's literally impossible to download the HD textures at the moment. https://steamdb.info/app/2369390/depots/

Yet the base game still installs all 8 full language packs AND the DLC even if you don't buy them, so it's ~110GB still instead of ~70.

Still an improvement over almost 180 it was before, but man FC6 is just NOT being managed well.

Better than Valhalla I guess, that POS must have crashed on me in excess of 100 times so far.

Really, why do they push all languages on people. If we only want English. Make a checkbox when installing to pick what language you want in the game, or want to use. would save a ton of download.
