Should I buy this game?
Hi there. Noticing this game on Steam sale and at first thought it was a good deal given it's 75% off, and wanted to get some input here. I know it kinda got bashed for not being innovative at all, but is it actually any good? Gameplay, graphics, was it improved at all since its initial release? I am a casual fan of Far Cry games, only played 3 and 5 fully, played a bit of 2 and 4 and Primal, but guess Primal is a whole different thing. I kinda got drawn into 6's setting here and visuals, but overall how is the game? Does it offer a lot in terms of gameplay and content, and how similar is it compared to others?

In the end is it worth playing at all and which edition should I buy? Thank you in advance.

PROS: Story is rebellion/ally-focused, unlike most FC games which are villain-focused. Rebels are genuinely really cool and realistic, rebel storyline and ally story is like 9.5/10. Really compelling

-Gameplay is less broken late-game and feels more intense and oppressive.

Cons: certain features(suchas flying) are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken and feel terrible, also aren't realistic or effective.

The game, instead of holding your hand like past games, gives you zero tutorial and refuses to explain basic ♥♥♥♥ and some key bindings aren't in the main menu.

TLDR: Gameplay and allies storyline is 9/10. Optimization is like a 2/10.

as far as similarity? It's the far cry formula, BUT it makes so much improvement that Far cry 4-new dawn look pathetic in comparison. The change in the formula from far cry new dawn to this game, is the kind of change that should have happened every game prior. It feels like the true sequel to FC3 in an alternate timeline where far cry 4-new dawn never existed.

It's a fun game and all but I got tired of the memory leaks frequently happening it'd go from 60+ fps all the way down to 10 fps after 30+ minutes because the optimization is terrible

Damn that's a very good setup. Sucks it's not that optimized.

Yeah unfortunately, I would recommend the game but I'd hate for you to waste your money if it acts up on you too... And thank you for the compliment dude!

2060 super, 32gb of ram, and ryzen 9 3900x 12 core. No problems for me at all running the game. Seems optimized well, imo.

So varies? Or depends on whether he's using RTX or not.

I guess so.

why not just buy the game and try it? If you don't like it, just get it refunded.

You're right. I did try the demo too and although it didn't show much it was fine.

Everyone says that.

Did the performance improve anyhow in the past three years since its release?

It was never bad in the first place. I first bought this game on Epic, when it first came out, and beat it, then bought it again on steam not long ago. It's played fine both times.
