Overclocked weapon mod slot uninstall?

I have bought Alpha Wolf sniper rifle (Lynx), its "overclocked" weapon from shop. I accidentally pressed the modification slot, which was grayed out. This increases the weapon's damage, but I was surprised to find that this cannot be turned off. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? In any other weapon you can toggle modifiers and turn them off, but not here.
