in my opinion, FC3 > fc6> fc4> fc5...
No, you can jump into ANY of the FC games with Far Cry 5 + ND being my favorites , those seem to have some continuity in reappearinng characters from previous series ( and getting the corresponding mods helps their replayability ie Resistance Mod FC5, ScavangerMod FCND; Libertad FC6)
NONE of the Far Crys had this kind of thought provoking article like Far Cry 5 had :
FAR CRY 5: THE PASTOR VERSUS THE FATHER
A Theological Deep Dive into Far Cry 5, The Father, and the Project at Eden’s Gate

or maybe hilarious...
"As I watched my son drive a 4-wheeler down a dirt road in one play session, he was suddenly attacked from the woods by a bear. Now, rare is the bear that would attack a man on an ATV, but even more ludicrous is that this bear was on fire. Now, my guess is that no one has ever been killed by a flaming bear in the long and august history of the Montana territory. "

IMHO Never ever will FC6 generate such articles as the above BUT FC6 is still fun with mayhem,
FC6 has the worlds best crappiest tank in the world, the Soviet made/ licensed T55, the most-produced tank in history, and you can steal one. With an ai bot as MG gunner, ( I got the Libertad Mod and spawned an AI bot companion) me as driver a lot of Cain can be raised, blasting things and colliding with enemy trucks that break like bottles against its armor. But not invincible, I lost a few tanks with me as the barbacue, once a fire fight gets going the game frequently spawns on more enemies classic Far Cry style and unless one moves away quickly, one can be overcome rapidly.
Im not going to give away too much but its open world, the map seems all accessable (except for the "tutorial" part at the start) and Im drivng around to see what I can see. I got the FC5 Dan Romer /Hammock music to work in the game and yes just cruising...
HOLY COW ther is a lot of gals getting killed here, women's lib to the max
There is a political bent which has some players wishing they can instead work for El Presidente Antón Castillo. There is a "chaotic" tone to some of leaders on side you are working for, at the very least, once El Presidente is gone, the place will probably probably disentigrate into factions battling for control. As it is I have mixed feelings about killing these handsome looking men and women in uniform in FC 6 compared to others in the franchise (and there are aLOT of women).
FC series really needs to think about a CAPTURE enemy mechanism rather than "kill all"
But yes indeed, worth your time worth a buy on sale!
(minor spoilers)
thank you so much for giving me a detailed response, i decided to buy it though the other day and im having fun with it so far, a bit confusing at times though ngl, like should i complete quests in order, focus more on capturing FND bases etc or what? so far its been a bit over the top with certain people dying and im like. oh ok.. lol, it can be pretty chaotic, love the charactors. bicho males me laugh lol, i wish lita and others were still around , i think they were killed off way too soon, you havent even completed the quest and the main people get yeeted, i mean i guess its realistic, a fascist regime, a dictator would have brutal psychotic soldiers but ...dayum...
FC6 is actually not much different to the previous parts to a point that it kind of feels like a DLC of FC5 with a new map and story.
If you didn't play any FC game in a long time you can definitelly have a lot of fun, though. The formula of liberating outposts, discovering the map, finding crates and other stuff, upgrading your stuff and finishing the missions still works pretty good after all these years.
And because it's the 6th main part the game is very polished and optimized.
