Worst far cry graphics I’ve ever seen
So I recently upgraded my gpu from a nvidia gtx 1660 to to a 4060 ti and wanted to play far cry 6 on the max setting to see how my gpu could handle it. Well I put everything at max, best ultra settings with ray tracing, hd textures and the game still looks like trash. I look at other people’s gameplay and their game looks amazing. What am I doing wrong?

Is your 4060 Ti the 8 Gb or the 16 Gb variant? Because HD textures require 12 Gb of VRAM and 16 Gb of VRAM at 4K. Otherwise some textures won't load in.

If it's not that, then I don't know. I have over 30 hours in game and I'm using standard textures at 1440p and it looks good to me.

ultra hd textures are for 4k only ....there will be visually no difference if u enable them on any resolution below 4k

Because it's not true.

Having said that...your GPU can't handle the HD Textures without issues. This is why your graphics end up looking bad.

because its quite obvious as the name is written ultra hd ... 4k is ultra hd , 1080p is full hd and 720p is hd

Tbh , i've seen many yt comparison videos, and found no significant difference in lower resolutions like 1080p/ 1440p... only on 4k sometimes i've seen some 10-20% difference ...which is not worth tbh for the extra space it needs

Actually it can't. That is why you are having issues. You don't have enough VRAM for the HD Textures.

if game runs out of video memory then it uses RAM to fill up the gap ..
thats why in all modern games if u go out of vram u see ur RAM usage goes up significantly
