Can someone explain how the glidesuit works?

I've been trying to do the treasure hunt 'A Little Birdie Told Me' for some time now. The first time I leapt off the ledge, I was thinking all i needed to do was glide... and fell like a rock. Then I thought it was pressing forward would move me forward... and that angled me into the ground. I tried over and over to get some feel for the thing, failing each time until I gave up.

The closest I got was holding BACK to angle myself upwards which made me glide further. This also made me look upwards for some reason, preventing me from having any idea where I was going which ALSO resulted in me dying a few times when I landed. I DO NOT have my controls inverted, which makes this make even LESS sense.

Why is it so weird, or am I just missing something obvious?

EDIT: After many tries, I figured it out. ...I just used the Resolver helicopter to chase the bird. xD Even that failed the first time, as it somehow caught on the railing at takeoff and *instantly* exploded. Not sure why bumping a wood railing would cause an explosion but I'm thinking the answer is 'Because Ubisoft and Farcry games.'

You need to use the Air Drop fast travel to a town. Gliding from the rock is not high enough.

And when you drop use the keybind on which you have your wingsuit. Left-Shift is standard bind. When near the ground you can use C (parachute) to land safely.

For that specific mission, the best and the easiest method is to use a Buzzer (small helicopter) and simply follow that pelican Danilo.

If you want to use glide suit,
not inverted keys =
pressing forward (W) means you go up (not technically, because you still fall but at slower rate).
pressing backward (S) means you go down (you face down the ground and fall faster).
So, if you want to reach further distance you don't have to hold W button all the time. Just level yourself up as much as possible and then pay attention to the ground.

Before you reach the ground press a key (mine is on Space) for a parachute. But if you miss the button for a parachute and you are near the ground you can press E to close and it'll automatically open your parachute. If you press nothing you'll die.

You can finish that mission on foot if you use gear that improves your stamina recovery and move speed it was just barely able to keep up with him, its how I did it,

I did the same thing for all the Interception missions as well.

For me, with default keybinds I was able to complete it. My mouse controls where I'm looking so I didn't have issues with going 'up' causing me to lose where I was.

I think it took 3 or 4 tries to complete it.

Just deploy the suit and don't touch anything. Press A and D carefully to make small adjustments. You have to use the wingsuit twice. The second part of the treasure hunt is a quad ride, the fourth a jetski ride.

I did the same thing for all the Interception missions as well.

I've been using the resolver helicopter/boat thing for the interception missions, as I can just go directly to the target, and usually can land it right next to the radio where the mission starts.

I just followed that bird using a helicopter lol, way easier.

It took me a while and some research to figure out how to use the wingsuit. Eventually, I simply pressed and held "S" as I used it and I stayed in the air without dropping like a rock and dying.

For that treasure quest, it is inevitable you will have to land and after that, you got to use a horse or a vehicle to keep up with the bird. The worst part was being chased and attacked by enemies and I even had an attack helicopter try to mow me down.
